A
benign cutaneous lesion is any
non-cancerous growth on the skin.
Commonly treated lesions include
cosmetically bothersome moles,
warts, seborrheic keratoses, skin
tags, and many others. We employ
several techniques to remove these
bothersome benign lesions; most
of these methods are relatively
painless and require little recovery
time.
Benign Lesion Removal Treatments
Benign lesion removal is done
under local anesthesia. Commonly
used methods of benign lesion
removal include traditional surgery,
laser surgery, electrosurgery,
cryosurgery, and curettage. The
chosen procedure will be individually
tailored to your needs, with strict
attention to cosmetic outcome.
What to expect after a benign
lesion removal:
After the lesion has been removed,
most people can resume normal
daily activities immediately.
Benign lesion removal generally
takes between five and twenty
minutes. Complete post-operative
instructions will be discussed
with you, and usually include
nothing more than an antibiotic
ointment and a bandage.
In some cases, benign lesion
removal is not covered by medical
insurance. Cosmetic fees will
be discussed with you prior to
any procedure.
